Op 1 maart 2005 is de eerste set van dat jaar uitgekomen: Flaming Eternity. Deze set introduceert ondersteuning voor Fusie monsters en daarmee zet Konami een stap naar meer fusie monsters en technieken rondom het duelleren. Leuk weetje bij deze set: volgens een bericht van Kevin Tewart op Pojo, was dit het eerste Booster Pack waarvan de dozen waren verpakt met het Konami-logo.
Fusie monsters
De set Flaming Eternity introduceert ondersteuning voor Fusie Monsters, inclusief de veelzijdige ‘Hex-Sealed Fusion’. Naast de ondersteuning vind je ook veel beest type monsters en ondersteuning voor deze kaarten. Zeer gewilde kaarten zijn onder andere ‘Sacred Phoenix of Nephtys’, ‘King Dragun’, ‘Lightning Vortex’ en ‘Phoenix Wing Wind Blast’.
